Samsung has announced the re-naming of their Air Conditioning division – now known as Digital Air Solutions.
This renaming comes on the back of a larger strategy to both highlight the brands offering in this regard – that of innovative air solutions that ensure not only cooling, but heating and air modification – as well as to target a larger audience from both a retail and commercial perspective.
Recent research indicated that the market viewed Samsung air conditioning as an outlet selling only residential air conditioning for cooling purposes and neglected the larger product brand offering.
In order to address this, the company has adopted a three-pronged approach, focusing on the following areas: 1. Digital: To become market leaders in innovation through technology and people. 2. Air: To focus on cooling, heating and modifying the environment in the most energy efficient manner 3. Solutions: A customer-centric company that puts the needs and expectations of the customer first, offering a total solution for every customer’s need. The aim of the new strategy is to actively be in a position to fulfil the needs and requirements of each and every individual.
“In line with Samsung’s continued endeavour to building a reputable, recognisable and customer centric brand, the alignment to innovative technologies and the ability to connect with and educate the market effectively as to our product line up is key and it is for this reason that we have reinvented the digital air solutions brand and are elevating our offering within the market,” said Michael Mckechnie, Head of Digital Air Solutions at Samsung South Africa.
