OnMobile worked alongside Jet Multimedia Morocco to release the KaraoPhone.

Regardless of handset, customers may call OnMobile’s KaraoPhone service and request any song they like. Then they can sing to it and receive a score and rank, allowing for comparisons between players.

The scores are determined through detailed sub scores and KaraoPhone also provides feedback as well as a recording of their song.

OnMobile’s language agnostic audio recognition software is what makes their service deployable in any language. KaraoPhone will also be deployed in Mali by another telecom company.

“Africa is a high-growth value-added services market and we are happy to extend our offerings to mobile subscribers in Morocco,” said Arvind Rao, CEO, Chairman & Co-founder, OnMobile.

Karaoke is most popular in European and Asian countries such as France and China. According to OnMobile, the next trend in the mobile industry is enabling people to enjoy entertsinment services on their mobile phones that are connected to their social networks.
