The event was a true reflection of the dynamism of Nigeria’s market, giving an overview of the opportunities in terms of network developments, new services and customer offerings.

“NigeriaCom is a great opportunity to showcase the various technologies and service offerings in Africa and globally; it’s a good platform for like-minded people – a community of interest – to explore various business opportunities,”  Sailesh Iyer, Visafone CEO.

Saylesh gave an inspiring presentation on the evolution of the value-added services opportunities in Nigeria.

The conference programme included presentations and debates on operators’ strategies, network developments, broadband access, power generation, value-added services, customer loyalty, security and more.

Among the speakers were senior executives from MTN, Airtel, Etisalat, Glo, Vosafone, Mobitel, Comium and more.

Ibrahim Eisa, CEO of broadband service provider Intercellular, attended the event for the first time.

“I very much appreciate the organisers arranging Intercellular’s participation to NigeriaCom. People from the commercial and technical departments, as well as myself, have attended the sessions, and they told me the conference made them more aware of the telecommunications market in Nigeria and its direction. If this event takes place annually, we’ll secure our seats every year,” says Eisa.

In addition to the conference, the event included an exhibition showcasing the latest products and services from operators, vendors and media outlets active in Nigeria. It provided a great forum for participants to network and to discuss new opportunities for their businesses.

The next event, AfricaCom will be held in Cape Town, South Africa in 9 – 10 November 2011.
