JSE-listed Allied Technologies Limited (Altech) is pleased to announce the appointment of Tim Ellis as Group Executive: Converged Services to the Altech Group, effective 1 September 2011.
Ellis has more than 20 years of experience in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector. Ellis was formerly with Cisco as the Sales Director for the Public Sector Business within Africa and emerging markets.
During his 11 years at Cisco he held various management roles and directed sales teams in the Commercial, Enterprise and Public Sectors. Prior to joining Cisco, he worked for a large System Integrator and previous to that he was a partner in a technology start-up company.
Ellis will report directly to Altech Group Chief Operating Officer, Jeffrey Hedberg, and will manage all the operations in the converged services and connectivity structure within the Altech Group, including all Altech Stream East Africa operations, Altech Fleetcall, Altech Alcom Matomo and Altech Radio Distributors. The respective Managing Directors of these operations will report directly to him.
According to Hedberg, Ellis’s skills and experience ideally match Altech’s objective of developing converged services across the Altech Group.

Ellis began his career as a computer programmer and holds an MBA from the Graduate School of Business of Heriot-Watt University and a Management Advancement Programme (MAP) qualification from the University of Witwatersrand.
