NetOne attracts industry heavy-weights

NetOne has attracted interest from six foreign investors

Zimbabwe’s third largest cellular mobile network, NetOne, has attracted interest from six foreign investors, who wish to buy shares from the mobile network.

NetOne Managing Director, Reward Kangai, said high profiled telecommunication giants such as MTN Group Limited and Bharti Airtel of India were ready to purchase shares at NetOne.

“We have received four inquiries from foreign companies that are wishing to acquire a stake,” said Kangai.

The two giant mobiles, MTN Group and Bharti Airtel, are rivals in the sense that they have fierce investments competition in Africa, and purchasing shares at NetOne would boost the communication industry in Zimbabwe.

Econet Wirless is Zimbabwe’s top cellular mobile network while Telecel Zimbabwe is the second largest in subscription terms.
