MWEB reduces ADSL rates

Must Read
MWEB has further reduced their rates

Internet provider MWEB is set to reduce their rates for of their ‘all-inclusive’ uncapped ADSL 1Mbps product range. Telkom announced last month that their Faster DSL customers will receive an 11.3% decrease in the monthly ADSL line rental fee, and MWEB is passing on those savings to their customers.

Telkom also announced that they have already increased the speed for its Faster DSL customers from up to 512Kbps to up to 1024Kbps on 1 May 2011.

MWEB’s standard all-inclusive 1Mbps uncapped shaped service is now priced at R588, down from the previous R599, while MWEB Business’ Uncapped Unshaped 1Mbps bundled service now costs R1288 per month instead of the usual R1299.
“For new customers it will be effective 1 July 2011 and for our existing customers, from 1 August 2011. We had already billed them for July when Telkom made the announcement,” said MWEB ISP CEO Derek Hershaw.

  1. A definition of shaped and unshaped bundles would assist the users as trying to get a non-salesman spiel from MWEB is impossible.
