MasterCard launch electronic bill-paying services with Fawry

The Egyptian Electronic bill presentment & payment (EBPP) company Fawry announced it is joining forces with MasterCard to provide payment services to Egyptian customers, the Middle Eastern News service Bawaba reported Wednesday.

Fawry’s EBPP consolidate billing services for businesses, and allow customers to pay at specific retailers using Fawry. Bawaba also reported that Fawry has 10 000 electronic and retail payment locations across Egypt.


By partnering with MasterCard, Fawry hopes to enable bill pay using credit cards. Right now transactions are debit based.
