Outspoken creative director for Epic Games Cliff Bleszinski has confirmed that there will be no possibility that their popular title Gears of War will be making its way to Sony’s PlayStation 3 console.
“I would say in the foreseeable future there’s zero chance of Gears of War being on the PlayStation 3. Can we bury that now? Seriously. It’s like, we have a great deal with Microsoft, they’re a great partner…” he told IndustryGamers.
Gears of War and Xbox 360 has had a partnership ever since the launch of the Xbox360, and Epic Vice President Mark Rein even famously joked that he cost Microsoft $1 billion dollars because he showed them what Gears of War would have looked like using only 256MB of RAM, which prompted Microsoft to do a rather expensive architecture upgrade.
Gears of War 3 is due to hit shelves around the world in September.
