South Africa’s Communication Workers Union (CWU) is hosting a congress on Friday (tomorrow) to discuss key issues, among them increasing job loses in the Information Communication Technology (ICT) sector, an official told ITNewsAfrica.com on Thursday (today).
The CWU Spokesman, Tankana Mothapo, said the conference would take place in Braamfontein where critical ICT, mobile and telecommunications issues will be discussed in full as a matter of concern.
He said the Communication Workers Union would have its National Bargaining Conference as per the previous congress resolution.
“Amongst critical issues to be discussed are job losses in the Information, Communication and Technology sector,” said Mothapo
The National Bargaining Conference would be addressed by the Communication Workers Union President, Cecil Makgantso.
The CWU is South Africa’s largest union, which represents more than 20 000 telecoms, mobiles and ICT 20 000 workers nationwide.
