The programme, Streetwise Solution, is “an online learning system that has been implemented at four schools in South Africa in line with Nashua Mobile’s commitment to boosting education across the country”, according to a press statement.
The programme is scheduled to be launched in the capital, Pretoria, on Friday.
Nashua Mobile says it aims to focus on making a contribution to the improvement of the education system.
“The Streetwise Solution is a unique text-based email and information terminal that connects underprivileged schools to live on-line information that is sourced from reputable content developers,” reads the statement.
The new solution, dubbed Online Encyclopedias, would comprise email, live current news, curriculum based worksheets and a host of other teaching and learning tools which would be brought right into the classroom.
According to the statement, Nashua Mobile has already successfully launched the Streetwise Solution to underprivileged schools in Bloemfontein, Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg.
