Alcatel-Lucent today announced the successful migration of the billing system and customer care solution of the Egyptian Company for Mobile Services (Mobinil), Egypt’s leading mobile operator serving more than 26 million subscribers across the country.
The migration towards the new fully converged and integrated system will enable Mobinil to enhance the customer experience and support the fast introduction of new services.
For the migration, Alcatel-Lucent has leveraged its experience and strategic partnership with LHS, a leading independent software vendor (ISV) of billing and customer care systems in the telecom industry, whose software suite BSCS iX had been selected by Mobinil. By combining its network and IT experience as well as comprehensive professional services including project management and software integration, Alcatel-Lucent has been able to fulfill Mobinil’s requirements.
“With Alcatel-Lucent’s extensive experience, we are confident that we will bring highly engaging services to our rapidly growing customer base. Alcatel-Lucent’s capabilities in migration and billing systems integration assured a smooth continuity of service” said Hassan Kabbani, Mobinil CEO.
“This deal enables Mobinil to join the ranks of over 50 service providers that have chosen Alcatel-Lucent for the transformation of their business support systems. By leveraging both our global and regional expertise, we have successfully managed risk and complexities inherent in such transformation and migration projects and therefore reinforced our long lasting relationship with Mobinil,” said Amr El-Leithy, President of Alcatel-Lucent activities in the Middle East & Africa.
