
The governor along with notable senators and high-ranking government officials were among dignitaries who witnessed the official launch of the service in Ilorin recently.
His representative a Speaker from the Kwara State House of Assembly, Babatunde Mohammed, said, “I am very happy with the launch of MTN HyNet service in Kwara State. It is good to know that the service will benefit the people of this state, students in our institutions, workers and SMEs, among others.”
He observed that ICT is a veritable driver of growth and development, stressing that “this service will boost economic growth in the state”.
Simeon Ajibola, a Senator,and vice chairman of Senate Committee on Federal Capital Territory, who had a personal experience of the service during its demonstration said, “From the demonstration of the service, it is clear that HyNet will add value to businesses and homes in Kwara State.
I would like to encourage other communications companies to take a cue from MTN in providing solutions that will be of benefit to small businesses.”
Derek Appiah, Chief Enterprise Solutions Officer, MTN Nigeria, said it is a specially designed package for use by all.
“Hynet is a service we have carefully designed to suit the needs of Small and Medium Enterprises as well as small, home office.
“We are well aware that this category of businesses may not be able to readily afford the fixed broadband service generally available in the market hence MTN developed Hynet which is affordable to bridge the gap. Hynet is reliable, superfast and convenient,” he said.
