Huawei, a provider of next-generation telecommunication network solutions for operators around the world, today launched MTN’s F@stLink E2010 Football Modem. The modem is a replica of the Jabulani ball, which is the official football to be used at the FIFA World Cup 2010™ in South Africa.
It has been produced to celebrate The 2010 World Cup in South Africa, by Huawei for MTN, as MTN is a major sponsor of Football and a leader in Mobile Broadband services. The E2010 Football Modem is a showcase of Huawei’s capacity to respond to special groups or interests in the design and manufacturing of modems to complement its superior technology offering.
The modem can operate on a variety of frequencies such as HSUPA/HSDPA/UMTS 2100MHz; Edge/GPRS/GSM 1900/1800/900/850MHz; Equalizer; HSUPA Uplink up to 5.76Mbps; HSDPA Downlink up to 7.2Mbps; Micro SD slot for external storage; Plug and Play and SMS service, it will be suitable for use by soccer fans, business people, fashion consumers and the general public. It will be available in the market on both pre-paid and contract packages.

The E2010 modem will be exclusively available through MTN, in all African countries where MTN operates. It will soon be launched in Syria and other countries outside of Africa.
