South African ICT distributor Comztek has announced further plans to expand its footprint into Africa, with operations in East Africa (out of Kenya), Namibia and Zambia, by appointing new senior management to strengthen its “Rest of Africa” Business Unit.
Comztek has appointed three account managers and six channel managers for its expanded operations in the African continent, also implementing localisation of various aspects of its operations such as customer interface, stock holding and warranty administration.
“We announced a while ago the expansion of our software distribution business in Africa as well as the conclusion of a securisation deal to fund our growth in the continent. It was therefore befitting that we make these appointments to augment our aim of becoming the preferred communications partner in Africa”, said Tiens Lange, Rest of Africa Business Unit manager.
The company’s new appointments include a position of account manager for the Rest of Africa Business Unit, as well as two regional account manager positions – one for Botswana and one for Mauritius and the Indian Ocean Islands region.
The six channel managers will be responsible for the Microsoft, Adobe, Cisco, Fujitsu and Symantec accounts in Southern, Central and East Africa, as well as the Indian Ocean Islands region, developing relationships with vendors, as well as existing and prospective reseller partners.
In South Africa, Comztek has also appointed four new channel managers in the Gauteng office, as part of its growth plans.
