Despite Apple not confirming an official release date for its iPad, several publications cite tipsters who indicate that Apple stores will start selling the tablet on Friday 26 March at 6pm.
According to wired.com, both The Examiner and MacRumours websites have added to the speculation about the iPad imminent release story, with the Examiner adding “People who camp out for the iPad will receive a special gift”.
If true, the sale event will certainly remind Apple fans of the launch of the iPhone, which also took place on a Friday, 29 June, in 2007.
Apple officials claim that the iPad without 3G version will be available on the market in late March, with the iPad 3G shipping a month later.
