Vodafone Ghana has partnered with New-York based electronic payment solution provider, Afric Xpress, to launch Txtnpay, allowing subscribers to buy airtime and perform transaction at SMS rates, reports the country’s daily, The Chronicle.
Acording to Vodafone Ghana CEO, David Venn, the partnership will benefit the operator’s customers by giving them the opportunity to perform a variety of transactions, such as paying utility bills directly from their cellphones.
To access the service, subscribers would have to register at any Txtnpay centre across Ghana.
Headquartered in USA, Afric Xpress is an electronic payment solution provider, focused on mobile payments. The company is investing in electronic based solutions in Africa as part of its expansion strategy in emerging markets.
