South Africa - Internet Solutions (IS) has today announced the launch of a hosted BlackBerry® Enterprise Server offering available to businesses of all sizes in South Africa .

The hosted BlackBerry Enterprise Server solution provided by IS brings the benefits of the BlackBerry® Enterprise Solution to businesses that want to outsource the management their mobile messaging.

The service offers the security and functionality of the BlackBerry Enterprise Solution through a fully-featured, outsourced version of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server software that many businesses depend on to keep their mobile workers productive and in touch when on the move.

It is the ideal mobile solution for businesses already outsourcing their Microsoft® Exchange email system as it integrates seamlessly with hosted corporate email and provides simple, affordable mobile access to email, calendars and other features of the messaging platform.

As one of South Africa 's leading converged communications service providers, IS is ideally placed to provide a hosted BlackBerry Enterprise Server offering to the South African market. IS has extensive experience in offering hosted email solutions to the market, a world-class infrastructure and a large base of hosted email customers that could benefit from outsourcing their BlackBerry® solution requirements.

"Hosted BlackBerry Enterprise Server provided by IS will offer both small and large enterprises a hosted solution that offers many of the same features as an installed BlackBerry Enterprise Solution deployment at a fixed cost-effective monthly subscription fee," says Hayden Lamberti, General Manager of Application Solutions at IS. "Hosted BlackBerry Enterprise Server combines trusted BlackBerry smartphone features, functionality, and advanced security capabilities, in a package that's managed and supported for business customers by IS."

Companies that opt for this service do not need to buy, install or manage server software to mobilise their businesses, which means that there are no upfront software costs.

A hosted BlackBerry Enterprise Server solution allows businesses of all sizes to maintain multiple channels of communication with their customers, increasing the immediacy of their responses. Employees will be able to work smarter, make time away from their desk more productive, and get out of the office without being cut off from the applications and people they need to interact with to do their jobs effectively.

Hosted BlackBerry Enterprise Server features robust security as well as powerful administration tools that make it simple to manage policies and user groups through a central interface.

NOTE TO THE EDITOR:

•  Hosted BlackBerry Enterprise Server through IS will be priced at R45 per user per month, in addition to the voice and data costs that normally apply to BlackBerry® smartphone usage.

•  Clients will have to be a Hosted Exchange client with IS to make use of the Hosted BlackBerry Enterprise Server offering (This is an add-on service for a Hosted Exchange client).
