Panda promises maximum perimeter security with launch of Sun-based appliance

Panda Security has launched the new 9000 series of the Panda GateDefender Performa , a security appliance that offers maximum protection for the network perimeter – the main entry point for network threats – thereby preventing malware, spam and unproductive Web content from entering organizations.

“Security appliances are critical tools because they are a first line of defence in the main threat entry point in networks. Available in four different models to adapt to the needs of any size of company, the appliance offers three protection modules which can be bought either individually or as a set: the anti-malware module , which includes content-filtering; the anti-spam module and a Web filter module for filtering URLs and blocking P2P and IM applications.

The new range's software has also been updated, with a series of improvements to the automatic detection and disinfection of new threats, and greater interaction with Collective Intelligence – Panda Security's “in the cloud” detection model. This ensures that the solution offers even more proactive protection.
