Social networking tool launched in support of MWC
Organizers of this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) have introduced a new social networking tool aimed at enhancing the event and expanding delegates’ networking connections.
They introduced App Planet, a new “event within an event” focusing on mobile application developers, which will be held at MWC.
The Mobile World Congress, which will draw delegates from the continent, is scheduled for Barcelona, Spain, form 15-18 February.
“My MWC will enable Mobile World Congress attendees to maximize your time onsite by providing an easy way to connect with other attendees and exhibitors before the event”, organizers said.
This year’s event will include an exhibition of more than 1.300 companies and an awards ceremony.
Last year, MWC hosted about 47.000 professionals from 182 countries. In addition,
2.400 members of the press covered the event, representing more than 1.500 media groups from 76 countries.
In October, organizers announced that the CEOs of the world’s leading communications companies, including Alcatel-Lucent, China Unicom, Ericsson, Google, Huawei, KDDI, Telefónica and Vodafone, will deliver keynote presentations at the 2010 Mobile World Congress.
