Cape Town based mobile software start-up scores high in African competition
Cobi Interactive, a South African software development company specializing in mobile software solutions, was awarded two of the top entries out of over 120 from Nokia Calling All Inovators – Africa competition.
The company scored 1st place for 20fourLabs’ Afridoctor application and 9th place for Turn Left at the Giraffe’s application, Turn Left at the Barrel. Cobi Interactive carried out all client-side software development for these entries, as the sole partner on both applications. The awards are important achievements for the African IT industry, particularly South Africa, as the company has been operating for less than half a year until its competition entry.
Cobi Interactive was founded by Leonard Ah Kun, MSc University of Cape Town and Steven Preston, BSc (Hons), University of Cape Town, with the purpose of developing a range of mobile, web and desktop platforms for telecoms and financial services industries. The company caters for latest generation mobile platform like iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and Symbian.
