HP unveils its new telecoms real-time policy management solution

HP_Logo_1.jpgHP, the world’s largest technology company providing solutions from printing to IT infrastructure, announced yesterday new real-time policy management solutions for telecoms, in addition to their business support system (BSS) offerings.

The new policy, led by HP Subcriber, Network and Application Policy (HP SNAP), enables communications service providers to generate real-time customer insights for a better user experience, greater customer loyalty and higher revenues. The personalized real-time services were renamed HP Real Time BSS, as part of the business support system (BSS) portfolio, which includes HP Data Retention and Guardian Online (HP DRAGON) and HP Revenue Intelligence.

HP SNAP offers wireless, wired and cable companies a real-time policy management solution that applies controls over network bandwidth, charging and customer usage, optimizing the investment in long-term evolution (LTE) technologies. As data traffic grows rapidly, service providers can use HP SNAP to pursue fast-growing revenue opportunities without being limited to flat-rate pricing.

“Service providers can personalize – and monetize – new services with the HP Real-time BSS portfolio,” said Mary Brady, Communications and Media Solutions Principal Consultant, HP Software and Solutions, South Africa.

Over 250 HPP BSS solutions are currently implemented worldwide, among them Vodafone Portugal, Vodafone Spain and 3G services for China’s Hubei Telecom.
