Ghana: NCA appoints new Deputy Director General

Olivia Okailey Quartey, newly appointed Deputy Director General of the NCA.

Ghana’s telecom regulator, the National Communications Authority (NCA) has announced the appointment of Olivia Okailey Quartey as its new Deputy Director General.

Quartey is a graduate of the University of Ghana, Legon and Mountcrest College, a bilingual secretary with professional qualifications in French from the Alliance Francaise D’Accra and is currently undertaking a post-graduate course.

Quartey has over 20 years’ working experience with stints from the National Health Insurance Authority, Hadna Trust and General Leasing & Finance Company Limited (now Access Bank), working in various areas including Business Development, Payments and Office Management.

Prior to her appointment as the Deputy Director General, Managerial Operations, she was working at Bui Power Authority responsible for Business Development. She is also a Board Member of the Ghana Publishing Corporation.

Per her new position Olivia Quartey will join two other Deputy Director Generals to assist the Director General to provide strategic leadership and direction for effective regulation of the communications sector in line with established corporate governance processes.
