MySidekick shopping specials app launches in South Africa

MySidekick shopping specials app launches in South Africa.

On Wednesday 1 November 2017 MySidekick, a Stellenbosch based Tech Start-up, announced that they have released a new app which acts as a shopping application that hunts down deals for you while you shop. The app acts as a personal shopping assistant by using your location to identify all the sales items and prices that are nearby.

The app aims to eliminate the hours spent browsing newspapers and print catalogues for weekly specials or even searching for relevant specials among the thousands available on websites and apps. Now you can get specials, deals and promotions relevant to you sent straight to your smartphone whilst you shop. According to the company the app is all about getting the right specials at the right time and the right place, which MySidekick delivers by using GeoFence & notification technology as well as proprietary algorithms.

Speaking about the app, co-founder Leonard Brewer said, “MySidekick has support from some of South Africa’s most respected retailers and will continue to add new sought-after retailers for you to choose from. MySidekick is to shopping what Uber is to taxis. It is convenience in the palm of your hands and it has been developed for our uniquely South African way of shopping”

“It simplifies your shopping experience by notifying you of relevant retailer specials and delivering these straight to your smartphone as you enter a shopping centre, making life just that much easier. Instead of being bombarded with tons of information, you choose what product categories you want to see, and you can then easily navigate to see more specials of a particular category or specials from a particular store. The app will also show other shopping centres in close proximity, should the user wish to see what specials are available in another store in the area,” added Brewer.

The Android version of MySidekick is currently available to download free at the MySidekick website or from the Google Play Store.
