Earlier this week MTN South Africa had revealed that it was experiencing intermittent connection issues, which essentially affected approximately 1 million of its voice, SMS and data customers throughout South Africa.
According to an updated statement by the MTN: “The intermittent connection issue is still under investigation. MTN’s engineers implemented a solution yesterday evening which alleviated some of the problems and restored services. However, some of the subscribers are still experiencing connectivity challenges.”
MTN also stated that: “We are continuing our investigations with the support of all the parties in order to fully restore services. Our engineers are currently working on resolving the issue as soon as possible.”
MTN further stated that the company wishes to sincerely apologise to affected customers for any inconvenience experienced.
