Nigerian consumer internet company, Iconway, has revealed that it will be launching PricePadi.com on 1 September 2014. The domain is the new home of the company’s online shopping service, which allows customers to search for and discover products available from different sources in Nigeria along with their current prices.

According to the company, PricePadi.com features over 10,000 product items under categories of mobiles devices, electronics, computers and appliances from hundreds of leading brands.

Speaking on the launch, Iconway Founder, Oduntan Odubanjo said: “We have built a solution, which though far from perfect provides a great user experience for Nigerian shoppers to research items before they purchase. Our goal is to allow Nigerians make informed purchasing choices and we will be investing over the next couple of years to take this to the next level.”

Odubanjo went further to highlight the recent growth of e-commerce in Nigeria as he explained that this growth created the need for consumers to have access to the kind of information to make it easier for them to not only make informed decisions about related goods and services but to also discover where to get them online.

The company states that: “The online shopping services comes at a time when Nigerians appear to be embracing the culture buying products online especially with the advent of various online stores selling goods online as well as with the Federal Government’s push for a cashless society. These economic factors combine to make PricePadi.com a veritable tool for internet savvy consumers.”
