Twinpine Network has appointed Thomas Mbalu as Country Manager, East African region.

Mbalu, a multiple-award winning Digital and Creative expert, brings depth and well versed experience in Digital Marketing, Social, Media and Mobile Advertising, having garnered experience working with top rated firms across East Africa and the United Kingdom.

Chief Executive Officer, Twinpine, Elo Umeh commented: “Thomas is a Digital Leader, and Strategist. We believe that taking up this new responsibility to run and deepen the business of the company in East Africa is reflective of his track record and what the future holds for us at Twinpine, as we cover Africa.”

According to Mbalu, the decision to join Twinpine was based on the unquantifiable passion exhibited by the company in using mobile as the primary platform to create enhanced mobile advertising experiences and create solutions for the African continent.

“There is a significant role mobile plays in driving internet penetration in Africa and a monumental increase on how it is used by the African people. It is a quicker, faster and more reliable way to reach millions of people at the click of a button. This is sure to be an exciting time for advertisers in East Africa. I believe Twinpine’s unique ability to engage brands and consumers with Strategy, Creativity and Technology, will drive success for our clients,” he stated.

Mbalu will bring a host of elements to the table in his new role, “I have the vision of bringing my experience in to the development and management of Twinpine’s Mobile Advertising Strategy Services to position it for great exploits for the future,” he said.

Prior to joining Twinpine, Mbalu was the Digital Creative Director & Digital Strategist at Scangroup Limited (a WPP company), Africa’s Leading Marketing Services Group, gaining aptitude within Squad Digital and OgilvyOne Africa on accounts such as Coca-Cola (CEWA), Airtel Africa, Barclays Bank, Standard Chartered (Kenya & UAE), Vodafone (Ghana), Unilever, Safaricom, Kenya Airways, KFC and Nestle.
