According to a CIO East Africa report Vodafone Global Enterprise (VGE) has announced it will engage with Safaricom Business as it establishes a base in Nairobi, Kenya.

VGE is said to have been founded in 2007 and is focused on supporting businesses looking to establish multi-country presence.

The firm has now added Nairobi to its list of areas where it has presence, which includes Accra, Ghana and Cairo, Egypt writes CIO East Africa. The reported intention of the company is to use this presence to offer fixed and mobile services throughout the continent.

Ross Thomasson, Regional Director Africa for Vodafone Global Enterprise, is quoted as saying that most businesses want a single contract across multiple countries and that “companies are looking for ability and control.”

Sylvia Mulinge, General Manager, Enterprise Business Unit at Safaricom, is also quoted in the report and said the mobile network operator will use the partnership to provide services to clients located in areas the company does not have presence in.
