With the location of the shop on the campus, students, academic and non-academic staff as well as visitors to the campus have been availed the opportunity to access Airtel’s all-inclusive service experience that includes a rich range of unique offerings in data, voice, bill payment, query resolution and general enquiries.

In addition to the new shop, Airtel also refurbished the institution’s faculty of education auditorium, complete with top-of-the-range air conditioners.

Lagos Regional Operations Director, Airtel Nigeria, Bayo Osinowo, said the new service point was in line with Airtel’s strategy to take its customer service delivery to the door steps of customers.

He further explained that the move will reduce the quest for a better service experience by UNILAG, reiterating that it is yet another reason more Nigerians especially the youth should port to Airtel.

“By deploying a customer service centre right in the heart of UNILAG, and bringing to life this beautiful auditorium, Airtel is reassuring the management, staff and students of its commitment to help the University stay ahead of the pack in a highly competitive and fast-changing environment through efficient service delivery. Your profile as a path-breaker in academic pursuits is in sync with our well-known pedigree as a leader of innovation and value offerings in the nation’s telecommunications industry,” said Osinowo.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Duro Oni, who represented the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Rahman A. Bello, while cutting the tape to declare the shop open to customers, thanked Airtel for supporting the institution in the provision of social amenities.

Prof. Oni, who led other top management of the institution including Dean, Faculty of Education and Chairman of the Faculty Board, Prof. (Mrs.) M.O. Omoegun, said UNILAG will continue to create an enabling environment for Airtel to serve the university.

The new Airtel service point is the second by the company at the University, following the recent deployment of a data services point.
