While Sony launched the Xperia Z tablet in Cape Town on Monday, journalists in Johannesburg had the opportunity to review the latest tablet from Sony on Thursday.
With a 10.1” Reality Display, the unit is powered by 2GB of RAM, a 1.5Ghz Snapdragon S4 Pro quad core processor and the Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2, and is also water-resistant.
In terms of connectivity, it has a built-in LTE/4G modem as well as Wi-Fi and WiFi Hotspot functionality, HDMI via MHL support, NFC and Bluetooth 4.0 wireless technology.
The unit also sports many of Sony’s built-in functionalities such as Screen mirroring, Throw, TV side view and a remote control application.
“The Snapdragon S4 Pro has a dedicated Adreno 320 GPU (graphics processing unit). This is two times faster than the previous Adreno processor and it means you can play the most advanced, visually stunning 3D games, and browse the web quickly and smoothly,” Sony said in a statement.
