With the Samsung GALAXY S4 smartphone arriving in South Africa this week, Samsung Electronics South Africa commenced its consumer pre-order campaign at various locations in Cape Town and Johannesburg on Sunday (14 April) ahead of its launch later this month. In a campaign to encourage consumers to be one of the first to own the sought after GALAXY S4, Samsung in partnership with all major operators and service providers, has opened a pre-order service for the new device.
“The Samsung GALAXY S4 is more than just the latest smartphone. With the S4, we have designed a product to be a life companion to our consumers by allowing them to engage in ways they have never imagined. It provides them with a completely integrated experience from capturing moments, using images with sound to experiencing a world free from language barriers through text and voice translations,” says Craige Fleischer, Director of Mobile Communications at Samsung Electronics South Africa.
Events hosted in the major cities will see Samsung bring to life some of the exciting new features of the GALAXY S4 such as Samsung Smart Pause which enables the user to control the screen through head motion/ where you look.
When someone is watching a video it will pause when the user looks away, then it starts right up again upon return to the screen.
With its Group Play function users can enjoy music, photos, documents and games with those around them without even requiring a Wi-Fi AP or cellular signal. This innovative feature enables users to connect directly with others to share, play and co-create content and entertainment, instantly. Its Share Music option allows users to have the same song playing on multiple phones in sync to create the best party atmosphere.
“The Samsung GALAXY S4 will create an emotional connection with our consumers. A fortunate few can be one of the first in the country to own one of these innovative handsets through pre-ordering using the Samsung site,” adds Fleischer.
Activations will be staged in Johannesburg and Cape Town leading up to the main launch event which will be hosted in Nelson Mandela Square, Johannesburg on 27th April 2013.
