Core Group, the official distributors of Apple products in South Africa, announced that the highly anticipated Apple TV device will be made available to customers in South Africa on 18 January.
“Apple TV makes it easy to enjoy iTunes video, music and photo libraries from your computer right on your HD TV—and with iCloud you can instantly enjoy content that was purchased on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch as well. iTunes Match customers can now play their entire music library from iCloud—even songs they’ve imported from CDs. Users can also control Apple TV with their iPhone, iPad or iPod touch using the Remote app, available as a free download on the App Store,” Core said in a statement.
Apple TV will be available in Apple Premium Resellers and selected Apple Authorised Retailers, and will be retail for R1099.
Apple users who wish to get their hands on the Apple TV unit, will have to make their way to the iStore in Sandton, or got to any Digicape, Incredible Connection, Dion Wired, Makro or Hi-Fi Corporation.
“Apple TV is quiet, energy efficient and so small it fits in the palm of your hand. Which makes it perfect for sitting neatly on a TV stand or squeezing into a crowded media cabinet. And when it’s not filling your living room with drama, romance and comedy, it uses less power than a night-light. With iCloud and Photo Stream, your photos update automatically — no syncing, no sending,” Apple states.
