Etisalat Nigeria invite mobile users to ‘opt-in’

According to a report in Abuja’s Leadership publication Etisalat Nigeria has entered into a deal with Alcatel-Lucent to deploy the company’s software-based mobile marketing solution called Optism.

The solution facilitates interaction between subscribers and their mobile operator. It also enables subscribers to ópt-in’ and receive marketing and promotion material about their favourite brands via their mobile phones.

Alcatel-Lucent has also reportedly created “a local ecosystem” on behalf of Etisalat Nigeria that comprises key role players within the advertising space – including advertisers, brands and media agencies.

Leadership states that at the time the service was launched, at the beginning of 2012,  more than 800, 000 subscribers took advantage of the service.
