Top flight speakers confirmed for Green IT Innovation Dinner

Confirmed speakers and panelists for the event are Fritz Milosevic (Nedbank Capital), Ravi Chhatpar (International guest) from frog Shanghai, Graham Vorster (HP), Kanagaratnam Lambotharan, (CTO MTN), Jason Schäffler (Nano Energy, RECSA)

The Innovation Dinner series has become well known among South Africa’s ICT professionals, entrepreneurs and senior business people as a great opportunity for networking and strategic planning.

IT News Africa, together with key sponsors MTN Group, Nedbank Capital, HP and Adobe, is proud to announce the speakers for the 10th Bi-Monthly Innovation Dinner. This event will be held at the Michelangelo Hotel and Towers in Sandton on the 27th of October 2011.

Speakers at this month’s Innovation Dinner will focus on Green IT- Trends In Efficient Technology, with specific emphasis on technologies and essential issues that enable companies to operate more efficiently, thereby creating a positive impact on both their businesses and the environment. Graham Vorster, HP Networking Country Manager for South Africa, will chair the event and the confirmed speakers for 27 October are Fritz Milosevic, Investment Banker Telecommunications, Media and Technology at Nedbank Capital, Jason Schäffler, CEO of Nano Energy, International guest speaker Ravi Chhatpar, Strategy Director at frog Shanghai and Kanagaratnam Lambotharan, the Chief Technology Officer MTN South Africa.

Fritz Milosevic is an Investment Banker Telecommunications, Media and Technology in Nedbank Capital. Fritz holds more than 10 years’ experience in ICT projects & markets across 4 continents and various countries. Recently Fritz started to analyse the potential and impact of clean-tech and carbon credit-mechanisms for the TMT industry, developing financial solutions that can support sustainable growth for “greener” TMT companies.

Ravi Chhatpar is the Strategy Director at frog Shanghai.His primary focus is innovation strategy – bringing strategic thinking to multinational clients who are looking for disruptive opportunities for growth and transformation.
He speaks regularly on topics related to innovation, growth, and design management and has authored publications for the Harvard Business Review and the Design Management Institute.

Craige Fleischer is the Regional Director Southern Africa for Research In Motion (RIM). Craige started his career in the telecommunications industry early in 2001 with Vodacom SA. His last position within the Vodacom environment was the management of Vodafone’s Multinational corporate business unit within Vodacom SA. Prior to joining RIM, he was that of Managing Director of Smartcall Insurance Administrators. Craige’s previous tenure at RIM was acting as lead for the MTN Group in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Kanagaratnam Lambotharan is the Chief Technology Officer MTN South Africa. Lambotharan holds a Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (Cum Laude) from Wits University. He joined MTN SA in April 1999, in the Radio Planning department in Network Group. Lambotharan held senior positions at MTN Uganda and MTN Irancell before being appointed as CTO in December 2010.

Jason Schäffler holds a M. Sc. AppSc in Energy and Development from the University of Cape Town and an honours degree in Physics at Wits university. In 2003 he started Nano Energy, a consulting firm specialising in renewable energy information systems. He has driven the establishment of the South African voluntary REC market and certificate issuing body RECSA. He currently serves as the technical coordinator for REEEP’s Southern African secretariat and is a longstanding member of Council of the Sustainable Energy Society of Southern Africa.
