Players of Sony’s tactical shooter franchise Syphon Filter will be glad to learn that the company is looking at developing a new version of the stealth shooter for the upcoming PlayStation Vita.
The game is apparently in development at SCE Bend, which is the same studio responsible for forthcoming Uncharted: Golden Abyss for Sony’s handheld console.
“SCE Bend is currently hard at work on Uncharted: Golden Abyss, but its hush-hush Vita project is a return to Syphon Filter,” PTOM Italy wrote.
The Syphon Filter franchise has been hugely popular, but this will be the first new game in the series since 2007’s PSP effort Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow, also developed by SCE Bend. The most critically-acclaimed title in the franchise was Syphon Filter 2, scoring a 8.0/10 on IGN.
But this isn’t the first time that rumours of a new Syphon Filter title has emerged. Earlier this year there were rumours that the title will be making its way to the PlayStation 3, which will be a first for the game, as the all the previous version were for the PS2 or PSP.
