In support of South Africa at the Rugby World Cup, Samsung and Sports Illustrated South Africa launched a new app that will allow users to stay in touch with the tournament’s busy match schedule.

The application, RWC Match Reminder, is available on the Samsung Apps Store and will enable Galaxy smartphone users to select World Cup Rugby matches that they want to see and then the application automatically sets reminders, at local time, to ensure fans don’t miss selected games.

“In the spirit of the World Cup, we are 100% behind the Springboks and this is just another way Samsung are meeting local demands and expectations – ensuring that fans never have to miss a game, compliments of Samsung and Sports Illustrated,” says Brett Loubser, B2C Apps Development Lead at Samsung.

“We are proud to associate ourselves with the local Samsung Apps Store and there’ll be more exciting apps coming in future,” Renato Balona, Head of New Media at Media24 Lifestyle Magazines added.
