8.ta, South Africa’s fourth mobile operator has entered into a partnership with Nedbank that allows for 8.ta’s prepaid airtime to be purchased from the bank’s online banking channel.
“With this partnership, all Nedbank and 8.ta customers can now enjoy the convenience of accessing airtime anytime of the day from as little as R5 to R1000 through our internet banking and will soon be available through the Nedbank ATM network,” says George Chirwa, Nedbank Head for Digital and Mobile.
Nedbank understands the ever changing needs of customers and their demand for innovative products and services to meet those needs. Through this partnership, via the Nedbank Internet Banking, clients can select a PIN-less recharge, allowing them to load airtime on the cell phone number of their choice, in real time.
8.ta has been working hard to advance its distribution channels and currently has over 80 000 point of sales for its products.
“8.ta will continue to source accessible and convenient channels for its prepaid market. We will explore other potential channels provided by Nedbank to make the buying of airtime easier for our customers,” says 8.ta’s Managing Executive Amith Maharaj.
