IT Infrastructure Summit hits Cape Town

The two day IT Infrastructure Summit is opening on the18th of August 2011 to a much anticipated assembly of senior IT professionals, Infrastructure experts and government officials.

The opening address will be presented by MRS GNM Pandor, Minister – Department of Science & Technology, who will be sharing some of her valuable insights into African infrastructure development.

Key talking points at the summit will discuss infrastructure development, cost reduction, government infrastructure aid and plans for the future as well as next generation networks – the tone and pace of the summit will be set by Summit moderator and CEO of Quirk, Justin Spratt.

Among the guest speakers are heads of IT from the FIFA 2010 LOC, NEPAD, SKA Project, Debswana, MWEB, Neotel, WIOCC, SEACOM, ClearSpace Consulting and EFG Hermes. Government representation of course is critical in the development of IT Infrastructure and thus, a strong speaker representation is present from the City of Cape Town, GITOC, SITA, the Department of Arts & Culture, CSIR and ICASA.

In addition to keynote discussions, focused and interactive 90 minute workshops will debate infrastructure related topics such as storage solutions and management, Cloud computing, Mobile device management – workshops will be led by Intel, Hewlett-Packard, Lenovo and Google. Additional sponsors; Cibecs, Grove Group, SITA and Huawei-Symantec will host innovation stands sharing key innovative insights into infrastructure trends and developments.
