Airtel slashes call rates in Nigeria

Mr. Manoj Kohli, CEO (International) and Joint Managing Director, Bharti Airtel

THE newly rebranded Airtel Nigeria has slashed call rates with its new 2Good package.

With Airtel’s 2Good package, customers will be able to make calls at 20 kobo per second after the first minute.

For a minute, users pay 60 kobo per second. This applies to all calls (on net and off net).

Managing Director and CEO of Airtel Nigeria, Rajan Swaroop said: “We launched the Airtel brand last month with the promise to deliver
innovative, affordable and relevant solutions to ‘bring freedom’ to our customers. Our 2Good promotion demonstrates our commitment to live up to that promise.”

Swaroop said the new tariff clearly lives up to the expectations of Nigerians and the challenge laid down recently by President, Goodluck Jonathan at the launch of the Airtel brand in Abuja.

“At Airtel, we are driven by our vision to be the most loved brand in daily lives of Nigerians. 2Good offers Freedom to our customers to make more calls to their loved ones. This is the first of the range of our exciting products, with superior network and service, which would redefine ‘Freedom’ to mobile communications for Nigeria,” said Swaroop.

Airtel is the new brand name for the 16 Zain operations across Africa which was acquired by Airtel International in June this year.-
