Econet branded handsets launched in Zimbabwe.

The phones will reportedly be sold in a starter pack that includes a Sim card and airtime. Initially, two models will be sold and the firm will roll-out more models in the near future.

Zimbabwe’s Econet has introduced barnded handsets that will be included in starter packs. These starter packs will include a Sim card and airtime.

According to a report in the Wireless Federation, Initially, two models will be sold and the firm will roll-out more models in the near future. While Econet has appealed to regulatory authorities to reduce fees on telecommunications equipment, the company said it’s subsidising the price of the new models to offset the high import taxes.
